From a physiological point of view, the body is controlled by an ingenious system that both broadcasts messages to the entire organism and sends specific packets of information to specific targets at impressive speeds. These are the endocrine and the nervous system respectively. The control center, the brain, receives information from the body chemically and electrically. I found that a deeper understanding of the endocrine and nervous system empowers the therapist to help the client achieve better results in fewer sessions. Accordingly, in this session, I would like to share with you a bit of endocrine and nervous anatomy and physiology first, and then show you how we have used that information to the benefit of our clients. -F.
